Molly Friesenborg

Director of Scholar Programs

Molly Friesenborg serves as Director of Scholar Programs at New Futures, bringing warmth, clarity, and more than a decade of experience supporting young people. She is known for her steady leadership, deep commitment to equity, and talent for creating calm in chaos as she helps Scholars navigate college, careers, and every step in between.

With more than 10 years in the nonprofit sector, Molly has supported a wide range of educational programs in both programming and fundraising roles. Before joining New Futures, she served as Director of Programs at Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta, where she oversaw experiential education initiatives reaching more than 2,000 girls each year. Her experience is anchored in a belief that young people deserve not only high-quality opportunities, but also caring adults who walk alongside them.

Molly has also been deeply involved in strengthening the broader nonprofit community. She served as Board Chair of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) of Atlanta and sat on the advisory board of the Atlanta Foundation Center. A proud AmeriCorps alumna, she was honored with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits’ “30 Under 30” Award in recognition of her leadership and impact.

Known for her calm presence, thoughtful guidance, and genuine compassion, Molly is committed to building programs that honor each Scholar’s unique strengths and aspirations. She brings both structure and heart to her work, ensuring that Scholars are supported holistically as they pursue meaningful careers.

Outside of work, Molly is an avid national park enthusiast. Her greatest superpower is creating calm in chaos which is a gift that serves Scholars and colleagues alike.
