New Futures is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Washington, DC, with a bold approach to fighting inequity. We believe that shorter-term credentials (associate degrees and professional certifications) can be powerful launching pads to meaningful, financially secure careers.
As one of the only college success organizations in the region supporting underserved young people, New Futures goes beyond scholarships. We invest in our Scholars through personalized advising, skill-building workshops, professional networks, and wraparound support that helps them navigate both the classroom and life.
With an 86% success rate among Scholars selected in the last five years, New Futures is proving that opportunity, access, and holistic support can truly change lives.

We believe that the supportive environment of the New Futures Family is just as important as workshops and advising, and we make time and space to foster strong relationships.

Building a Community Where Everyone Belongs
At New Futures, we are committed to building a community rooted in inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. We acknowledge the historic and current systems that create barriers for many of our Scholars and community members, and we stand firmly in our work to confront those inequities. Through partnerships, support, and opportunity, we work alongside our community to expand access and ensure that every Scholar has what they need to succeed on their own terms. Together, we cultivate the conditions for all people to thrive.

Our approach helps Scholars finish school and build lives filled with purpose, stability, and opportunity. Every Scholar who succeeds create a ripple effect in our community by strengthening families and workplaces across our region.
