Griselda Macias
Director of Strategic Partnerships & Community Impact
Griselda Macias serves as a Scholar Advisor at New Futures, bringing more than a decade of experience supporting students as they access, persist in, and complete postsecondary programs. A first-generation college graduate, she is deeply committed to empowering young people and expanding pathways to opportunity through thoughtful guidance and advocacy.
Before joining New Futures, Griselda served as the College Access Coordinator at the Latin American Youth Center, where she managed two higher education programs, The Bard College Clemente Course and the New Futures Scholarship. In this role, she provided financial support, mentoring, and college-readiness coaching to help students transition successfully into, and ultimately complete, their programs.
Earlier in her career, Griselda worked as an Outreach Coordinator with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and Northern Illinois University, organizing events across the Midwest and around the country that promoted the importance of postsecondary education for students and families.
Her passion for equity and access began at The Education Trust, where she supported national efforts to advance educational opportunity for low-income students and students of color. That experience set the foundation for her career in student advocacy and continues to inform the care and intention she brings to her advising work.
Griselda earned her B.A. in Communications and Public Relations, with a minor in Political Science, from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She proudly helps Scholars feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach their goals.
