Making A Difference One Life at a Time!

Based in Washington, DC, New Futures* enables highly motivated young people from very low income families realize their dream of attending non-college vocational schools, community colleges or four-year degree programs.

The majority of our scholars pursue studies in areas which will lead to clear paths of employment.  These fields include computer technology, medical technology, nursing, social work, cosmetology and culinary arts.

We operate through a unique partnership arrangement with a number of Washington, D.C.’s most effective community-based organizations.

In the past seven years, New Futures has provided financial assistance to more than 136 “at risk” young people amounting to over 1.2 million dollars.  Over 80 percent of our students who start their programs remain in school.   Twenty-four have already graduated and hold excellent jobs in their chosen fields, earning far better incomes than they would have without our support.  Others are expected to graduate later this year.

These youth could not have completed their post-secondary education without the financial and mentoring support provided by New Futures and their community partners.
