She has also served on numerous professional boards and committees, and has been involved with volunteer work such as Everybody Wins, a student reading/mentoring program in the DC public elementary schools.
Louise Wiener, Co-Secretary, chairman of the board for Learning and Leadership in Families, a non-profit organization that links adult and early childhood education to promote school readiness for young children. Louise previously held senior management positions with the US Secretary of Commerce, the National Learning Center, and a database publishing firm, and has served on several public committees and commissions related to children and families.
Romana Li, Development Director, serves on the Board of Directors of United Way in York, Pennsylvania, President Elect of the YWCA in York, Co-Chair of the Women Giving Circle-Grants Committee. She volunteers on a number of other committees including York Beautification, Habitat for Humanity, Tocqueville Society (United Way), Strand Arts, Cultural Alliance, Co-Chair of YWCA Capital Campaign.
Grace Dickerson, a CBO-Based Board Member, is the Education Coordinator of Hope and a Home, a transitional housing and family support program. She is also the founder of New Community for Children, an after school enrichment program. She has a master's degree in Special Education, and has been an advocate for excellent education for low income children in Washington, DC for 30 years.
Monica Fernandez, a CBO-Based Board Member, is the Program Coordinator and College Counselor at the Latin American Youth Center. With a master's degree in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego, Monica has been working in the field of college access for almost 10 years.
Irene Klores, Mentoring Committee Chairperson, a former professional ballet dancer and dance instructor, also founded and ran The Ballet Center of Washington and Ballet Center Productions. Irene has also been a classroom teacher in several schools and has recently designed and supervised the restoration of a historic brownstone building in Dupont Circle.
Sara Maddox, a CBO-Based Board Member, works in the Educational Advocacy & Guidance department at For Love of Children, guiding and supporting high school students as they discover and achieve their post-secondary goals. Sara previously worked with TORCH, a non-profit that introduces disenfranchised youth to the world of work through arts, media, and communications, and has a master's degree from Columbia University School of Social Work.

Ilene Rosenthal, president of Strategic Initiatives for Achieve3000, which provides differentiated instruction solutions for K-12 students. Prior to this, she co-founded Lightspan, Inc., worked closely with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), and as General Counsel to the Software Publishers Association and the Government Operations Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. As a teacher, Ilene brings extensive experience in the fields of education, technology, strategic planning, and public policy.
Sam Harahan, Member Emeritus, has worked in leadership positions in the DC non profit field for 35 years. He founded and for twenty years led the Council for Court Excellence, the most successful citizen-based judicial reform group of its kind in the US. He now serves as staff director of a public safety NGO, the Washington DC Police Fund & currently assists two international NGO's with their fund development programs. Sam has also served in leadership roles on several at-risk scholarship program boards in the DC area for the past fifteen years.
